Ep. 24 - Eli Cohen

Episode 24 recorded on August 12, 2021

Eli Cohen was born in Jerusalem in 1949.  He is a direct student of the living Karate master Mr. Tsutomu Ohshima.  He was the first Israeli to receive the highest rank in Shotokan Ohshima Dojo - the 5th degree Black belt.

Eli also holds the rank of 5th Dan in Iaido, Japanese swordsmanship, and Shodan in Kendo.

Eli shares with us how he ran into a terrorist attack in Jerusalem disabling one of the terrorists and saving many lives, while risking his own.

He also explains in detail how through much hard work and conviction we are able to achieve clear states of mind and be genuine human beings.

He served in the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament in 2002.

He served as Israel’s Ambassador to Japan (2004-2007).

I was very excited to be interviewing Eli who has been an inspiration to me throughout my martial arts lifetime.

And I was finally able confirm some of the real time martial arts stories I had heard about him over the years.

I know you will be inspired too.
